Getting the soil right can eliminate half the common gardening problems. We put a lot of effort into this vital first step. First the laboratory sampling, then we decided not to send excavated soil to landfill, but rehabilitate it on site. The drought was in full swing by then and, as water is a vital ingredient in creating living soil, it slowed us down quite dramatically
